Platinum Grand Margarita

Ingredients:

• 3 oz Margarita mix
• 1 1/4 oz Gold tequila (Cuervo 1800)
• 1/4 oz Grand Marnier
• 1/4 oz Cointreau
• 1/4 oz Triple sec
• 1/4 oz Irish Mist
• 1/4 oz fresh Lime juice
• 5 cubes Ice

Mixing instructions:

Salt the rim of your margarita glass and add freshly squeezed lime juice to your glass. Add margarita mix, tequila, grand marnier, cointreau, triple sec, irish mist, and 5 ice cubes in a shaker. Shake vigorously until thoroughly mixed and cold. Pour into margarita glass and garnish with a lime wheel. Adding a maraschino cherry is an interesting touch.

I created this margarita variation to utilize the very best top shelf ingredients and impart a smooth citrus-lime-orange taste. All of the liqueurs used are derived from the orange (and most are quite high in alcohol content). This margarita is surprisingly sweet and smooth. Make one of these and you'll probably make another. A variation of this recipe would be to add 1/4 oz. Blue Curacao.
